Providing only "Super Bill" technology can be limiting.

Checkfree's primary bill presentment focus is the exclusive use of "super bill" technology. This superior technology eliminates paper from the bill payment life cycle and improves efficiency. Despite these benefits, though, I would like to see Checkfree explore alternative means of presenting bills so that subscribers can receive all their bills in one place.

Checkfree, its investors, and billers obtain value from Checkfree's "super bill" technology because it can be used to reduce operating expenses. Subscribers obtain some like benefit but it is questionable whether going to two places to get bills -- web and mailbox -- is worth it to the subscriber.

I would be interested in Checkfree taking out the mailbox step by providing customers a "get bills from any biller" service over the web. Unfortunately, Checkfree - USING ITS CURRENT STRATEGY - will NEVER be able to provide this capability to all its customers as its competition now does. Too bad Checkfree has opened up such a wide door to its competition.

Additionally, working only with super bills puts Checkfree head-to-head with companies like Microsoft in a race to see who can get the biggest portfolio. Given the competition, I wonder how long a relative no-name like Checkfree will be able to lure billers in and claim the biggest portfolio. Enough of the portfolio envy already!!

Alternative means of distributing bills to subscribers should be explored by Checkfree to augment its current system of bill presentment. Subscribers want a one stop receive and pay bills shop!!.
