Hi George! One reason why so called "internet funds" may not end up buying Softbank is that it takes away a reason for customers to use them as a mutual fund. As you know, Softbank, CMGI, ICCE, and others are a means of being diversified in the internet world WITHOUT needing to use a mutual fund. If Softbank gets a lot of attention than maybe some customers will choose not to invest in a net mutual fund but instead go to Son directly.
