My theory for the low volume:

On the sell side: some day trader bought into the news and take the stock into 20s. Some less disciplined ones did not sell soon enough (w/o realizing the float is so thin), end it up sell it gradually.

On the buy side: long term holders, probably not a lot of fools like us still own SYNT after last year. (Yahoo's thread volume is probably best indicator of a stocks following.) market of last week was so volatile, if I did not read up the tech. briefing, I would not dare to do some accumulation. But, even my buying was veru cautious. I have 4 buy order day B4 yesterday limit priced between 15.5-14. I got one filled, but didn't feel good enough (due to the market) to chase the stock once SYNT turned the corner.

Well, a theory is just a theory. At least SYNT is slowly recovering. Low volume down, and now low volume up, I guess that's OK.
