I will concede this, Checkfree has a winning solution if privacy is more significant to consumers than the convenience Checkfree and the competition are marketing. Unfortunately, privacy concerns did little in slowing the proliferation of Pentium IIIs, the use of grocery store shopping cards, or the generation of mailing lists.

Today, one can argue that convenience and efficiency are the predominate concerns of those most likely to pay for a service like Checkfree.

Nonetheless, privacy is a market differentiator for Checkfree. And as a Checkfree investor, I would like to see Checkfree to push everything it can. However, when one thinks of Checkfree, I doubt privacy jumps to the average persons mind. What pops in my mind are adds that say little about privacy. To the unfamiliar with the EBPP market, Checkfree doesn't offer that much more than the competition. Maybe focusing on privacy will encourage more subscribers to go Checkfree's way as opposed to the competition.

Until this happens though, I still think combining scanning technology and Checkfree's "super bill" technology is the most profitable.
