petph: There has been some tough sledding for the shorts over
the past few years. You know it's tough when Joe Grandville
capitulates suddenly and turns bullish. He has been one of
the biggest daddy bears of all time in one of the greatest bull
markets of all time. He makes me laugh for I see him as
an excellent contrarian indicator.

I suppose the shorts are entitled to a little fun for a season as
the exchanges rally toward unprecedented short interest numbers.
They claim inflation, and interest rates will rain gloom and
doom down on the street and thus the momentum seems
to be with them. For the breath of the small, and mid caps
has been terrible. But I feel the shorts are standing on a thin
crust of blue mud poised perfectly to be swallowed up.

Market valuation is going up! Why? Because it always has.
Is Greenspan a threat? I don't think so, he has proven that
he doesn't get overly zealous one way or the other.
small caps, mid caps? The hour of value is upon us.

I'm thankful for the shorts, without them how would we
make any money? Stupidity in the stock market is always
rewarded with the painful loss of one's hard earned loot!
Cube has dropped from 70 to the lower 20's and yet the
shorts persist. Their greed will sink them in the blue mud,
and I will stand on firm ground screaming yippi-ki-yay with
my new rope that which I don't intend to share in shorts
time of trouble.

good luck c-ya!
