One can make a strong argument that the advent of the internet will prove INFLATIONARY on balance before long.

The internet itself indeed is a force for deflation. But I would argue that the perceived disinflationary impact of the internet is a key reason the Fed has been so willing to flood the financial markets with unprecedented liquidity whenever stocks threatened to take to a big dive. And the inflationary impact of that liquidity flood ultimately will overwhelm any deflationary impact from the internet.
