David,

To stay off topic for a moment...

I've been thinking buying Quickbooks to simplify the handling of my stock records. I want to replace my own, home-grown, DBase + Quattro + manual + Excel, method which is getting quite burdensome (Don't laugh. It has taken me years to get myself into this shape ... ahhhh, well ... go ahead and laugh.). Your post makes me wonder if I would be making an error to move to Intuit's product.

I have seven IRA, Roth, Spousal, Individual, Joint, etc. accounts. I need to maintain them separately, but would also like a consolidation capability. Am I dreaming? Can you offer any guidance? It would be appreciated (he said, as if he wasn't on the verge of total exhaustion).

Fred
