GTE is notoriously pathetic on service. It is so bad.... not sure how they manage to stay in business. I've read several big time reports about them & their service. It was even mentioned during their merger activity, but it somehow didn't seem to matter. Had friends that personally experienced the same problems you are having. That's one RBOC merger i wouldn't get near. Sorry you had to experience 1st hand
