Pinnacle's products, such as the APEX are directed at an entirely
different market segment than Iomega or Syquest. Nobody else is even
in their game! Where else can you find a 4.6 gigabyte optical drive
with removeable media, and transfer rates of 6 mg per second. Not to
mention 30 year shelf life, a reusability factor of 10 to the 6th, and
an error rate of 10 to the -11th. When their product finally ships,
they will become THE choice for optical jukeboxes and archive storage.
Their price per megabyte solution will be the cheapest and most
reliable around. For the moment, at any rate...
