Fiber is clearly anchored in next generation networks. As I have stated in both my earlier posts, the BancBoston/RobbieStevens link simply lists the coverage of the stocks they cover - not every stock included in the entire spectrum. As gorilla gamers, we have to break the entire IP/Broadband space down into the various categories and sub categories and look for the ones most likely to be engaged in elements of a gorilla game that meet our investing criteria.

I have been assembling a basket of broadband stocks over the last 21 months and Uniphase was the first treat I added in the basket. I had already owned Cisco for many years, so it resides in old networking as well as next generation network baskets. There are plenty of next generation network threats to Cisco on the equipment side that basket players should think about owning (Redback is one example with their agnostic broadband equipment). I'm not advocating to every type of investor the tornado basket play mentioned in the manual, but it fits my 'style' and capital base. Not to mention the subject of jokes. However, I've got over 20 - 25 years until retirement and one can look at it in two ways:

My risk profile can afford to be higher because of time.

or

My risk profile was such that it could not afford to miss the aggressive growth of the next generation network tornado, the B2B tornado, the Godzilla tornado, etc... .
