This tip helped me save eight percentage points when I checked "system resources" which equates to roughly the amount of RAM still available when you are running your browser windows etc. A site that I went to said that to free up additional system resources un check items in your start up menu that you don't use. It's up to the individual to decide what you don't need.
First check how much of your system resources are in use. One way is to 1. right click the "my computer" icon. 2. left click properties and then performance. It should say something like system resources 86% free or some other reading.
To get to where you can adjust your start up menu follow these steps: (all left clicks) 1. start 2. programs 3. accessories 4.system tools 5. system information 6. tools 7. system configuration utility 8. start up tab 9. un check the boxes of things you don't use 10. click OK.
This looks complicated but the most difficult part is deciding what is not needed or more importantly what you MUST keep. If it helps, this is what was still checked off when I finished: Scan registry, task monitor, system tray, and load power profile. Doug
