>>what do you think of Corning's prospects as it takes on the other component makers to some degree?<< I knew my posting here would get me in trouble... <g> Seriously though, since GLW made their bid for OAKT while I was doing preliminary DD on OAKT, I dropped seriously considering OAKT/GLW as I missed out on the OAKT merger-induced price appreciation and was concerned GLW was just too big of a company to be affected by the fiber optics "craze." Wrong! Now I am trying to better understand the company and am looking to take a position when I think the timing is appropriate (as if I have got this timing thing correct here... lol) You are way ahead of me here... I do think Corning has shown it will do what it needs to do to be competitive-it may not be a JDSU, but it certainly is not shy of doing the right acquisition when warranted.
