Volume shipments of ADSL processor begin Sat Feb 05 00:44:00 EST 2000 <<<Feb. 04, 2000 (Electronic Buyers News - CMP via COMTEX) -- Basis Communications Inc. has begun volume shipments of its host processor for LAN/WAN, broadband, and related applications. The company's Service-Specific Network Processor is initially being targeted at the asymmetric digital subscriber line market, according to the Fremont, Calif.-based spinoff of Cirrus Logic Inc. Based on a 32-bit RISC chip from ARM Ltd., the integrated processor includes an embedded ATM device, a TCP/IP protocol stack, and a real-time operating system.
