Monica, RE:"You do recall what happened to AMD when Intel ramped up their Celeron production in early 1999, don't you?" Intel just didn't decide to "ramp up" Celeron production. What they did you was increase the speed of the Celerons which had 128k L2 to match the K6-2s (which, unknown to Intel were having CXT core problems) and they lowered they prices. So AMD came out with 400 MHz K6-2s and couldn't deliver and Intel took back much of that segment they had lost. On the other side, Intel left a lot of money on the table because they really didn't need to fire sale the Celerons. So this time, who jacked up the Mhz and couldn't deliver? Jim
