Or has anyone else tried to install Linux while retaining Win98 on the same hard drive? Love some input. Let me know if you can and I'll ask the Q.

Many people install Linux and Win98/WinNT on the same hard drive. But they use a dual boot system and install each operating system in a separate partition. You can either use PM, Partition Magic, or a utility program that comes with LINUX to create a dual boot system and two separate primary partitions.
