Moved over here to avoid further OT comments on LCBM. Although I'm not sure why; that thread is pretty dead.

Y'all seem to think Repel CV has completed human trials. Where do you get that information? From CHAI's website:

"The Company recently initiated a multi-center, randomized, controlled U.S. pilot clinical trial for REPEL-CV in cardiovascular surgical procedures. REPEL-CV is a bioresorbable film which is placed over the anterior surface of the heart at the conclusion of the surgical procedure. The primary endpoint of this trial involving 21 evaluable patients is to assess the safety of the material. In addition, the trial is designed to provide initial data on the efficacy of REPEL-CV in preventing adhesions between the heart and the inner surface of the sternum."

That sounds like a Phase I trial which appears to be ongoing. There will still need to be a Phase II and III studies. These could take years.

MEDLINE shows that Dr. Oz has published widely on CV issues. This includes one study published in SEP 99 - "Reduction of retrosternal and pericardial adhesions with rapidly resorbable polymer films." This was a preclinical study done in dogs.

What makes you think that human trials are complete?
