Now attempted to install Corel linux as well. All seemed to go well until it asked me where, ie drive & partition, to put the beast. It said I needed to define the root partition I have never used nor installed LINUX nor used the Partition Magic boot manager. It sounds like you have LINUX installed and are now trying to install the LINUX version of Corel? Does LINUX boot? Is the boot manager working? Does it let you select which OS and then boot to the proper OS? If LINUX is working does any other LINUX program work? Is the problem just with LINUX Corel? It said I needed to define the root partition I always thought the root partition was the first partition on the drive. I believe the boot manager installs itself in the root partition. The boot manager must be the first to boot...it then directs to the chosen OS. A boot manager may hide partitions..making them only visible to the chosen OS. when I just look in my explorer I don't see the partition added. Need I format it? Isn't it already formatted? Did you format it? What format does LINUX use? Win 95/98 will not see drives/partitions with formats it does not recognize. For example if you have NT in an NTFS formatted drive you will not see it in Windows Explorer from a WIN95/98 boot. NT is a little different. It generally sees partitions with formats it can not use. They are assigned drive letters. However if you click on the drive letter in Windows Explorer from NT it will return an error message. Also, if the boot manager is hiding partitions they will not show up...depending on how smart the OS is..a la NT. Hopefully someone with some more specific experience will help. Zeuspaul
