A note of clarification regarding the BofA conference. It was put on by BofA for BofA clients. It was not an "analysts meeting,", but for instiutional clients of BofA, that is, fund managers and the like.

Regarding your comments Shamuke, I don't really understand what you are asking of ANCR. It is clearly not in their control when an OEM selects them and consequently when they can announce a new OEM. That is simply the way that the OEM business works. With respect to your comment that ANCR should have announced the "shortfall" earlier, that was a judgement call. Don't forget that it was not their projection that created this "shortfall," but that of one of the analysts that follows the company. Should they announce every time one of these analysts projections are off. If so, how far off do they have to be for such an announcement. I think not. They clearly had no duty to announce at all. Yet after the market apparently (over) reacted to the rumor, they chose to pre-announce results. The trust that you allude to ANCR losing was not their trust, but trust that the market may have had in an analysts' projections. ANCR never made any revenue promises or projections. Companies don't "come up" with PR unless they focus on the very short term. Companies announce news when and if it happens. My thoughts FWIW.
