I thought I would report back just
in case somebody at ccel monitors
the thread:

After filling out the online form my
packet arrived two days later--off to
a good start. Then I start to sell the
wife on the idea--being perfectly frank
that half the reason of doing this is
to do a little DD on the company.

I get no help from the birthing class--a few
folks have heard of banking cord blood, but
nobody has an opinion. Her OBGYN--no opinion.
The nurse who gives the tour of the birthing
suites--has heard of this, but no opinion--
nobody is doing it--check with the lab to see
if they will use the hit and do the maternal
blood draw.

One of the fellas on our birthing suite tour
spoke up and offered that he works for a local
biotech company--said he'd run the idea by
one of their scientists--have not heard back.

Part of the reason the wife is resisting this is
that she freaks out at needles, and the idea of
another blood draw (ccel apparently screens for
disease as part of the kit) is not appealing.

Well, I tried--I even tried guilt, no luck.

Disappointing. Good luck CCEL longs, but at least
in my little corner of the world, this cord blood
banking is not catching on.
