In the track's case, if it was easy it wouldn't have taken me so long to be able to win on a fairly consistent basis. The thing that slowed me down was my assumption that in order to get an edge I needed more and better information than the average serious player. Inevitably that lead me to increasing complexity in terms of the individual factors and trying to put it all together. Somewhere along the line that approach blew a fuse. When I went back to the fundamentals of speed, pace, class, trip, distance etc... in the form that most players have available to them with just a little research or work, I started seeing clearly again. The key was not in finding the best horse using more sophisticated information. The key was in identifying which horse's odds were out of line using the information that was available to almost everyone. Wayne
