One factor in the biotech rise has been monoclonal
antibodies (mabs). After years of failure, they are
hitting their stride (due to improved humanization
and conjugation techniques and targetting).
A number of major clinical success stories. Witness
IMCL and TTP, amongst many others. IMCL has gone
from $3 to $70 and the game has just begun.

So, over the past year I've actively searched out
such firms. My current undervalued favorite here
is IMGN. Incredible technology, now in Phase 1.
Their conjugated mab effected complete 100% cures
colorectal cures in our rat friends. Both rats and
primates showed very little cross-reactivity. The
drug appears to be extremely safe. Now in Phase 1
down in San Antonio Cancer Center.

I know it's trendy to downplay rat results. But the
fact is that current colorectal drugs (like Cisplastin
and Flouroroucil) have little positive effect on rats
and are quite deadly (to the rats, not the tumors).
Humans fare no better, which is why these drugs are
basically jokes when it comes to stage 2 or beyond
colorectal. IMGN's drug, in contrast, achieved
complete cures with no side effects. Further, the
science of "why" is well-understood: being mabs,
this is a designed drug with a precise means of action.

Anyway, this is just one story amongst a thousand.
I think biotech will join the dotcom world over the
coming year, in terms of investor frenzy.
