Munich, Feb. 6 (Bloomberg) -- Infineon Technologies AG,
Siemens AG's computer chip unit, said it boosted margins on
earnings before interest and tax by more than 15 percent in the
first quarter ending Dec. 31, Finanz und Wirtschaft reported.
Infineon Chief Executive Ulrich Schumacher told the Swiss
newspaper it will be difficult to repeat that performance in the
full year, because the company benefited from ``several positive
factors' such as higher prices for memory chips and a ``booming
market for mobile-phone and bank-card chips.' Schumacher said he
expects a decline in memory-chip prices this year, while those for
logistics chips should continue to grow, adding that ``chances for
the market as a whole remain intact.'

The German company will begin canvassing investor interest
Feb. 21 for its initial share sale to raise an estimated 6.6
billion deutsche marks ($3.3 billion).
