Gary, I couldn't agree more regarding the prospects of this company. Having just read their 1996 annual report and Q1 sales numbers, I think NEWP has the potential to do extremely well (in spite of Wall Street's phobia of small cap companies). I also am planning to purchase more shares for longterm investment. I do not know what proportion of their sales are self-manufactured. Their 1995 catalog lists over 6300 products and it appears that the vast majority have Newport's name on them. Primary among those that don't are lasers, which are SpectraPhysics and Uniphase (wouldn't surprise me if they carry Coherent lasers too). They also sell some single and multimode cable, which of course is made by others (Corning (and Siecor jt. venture w/ Siemens), Lucent, Alcatel primarily). I've also seen the name York on some of the instruments in the catalog. But most have Newport's name on them. Whether some are OEM'd by others I do not know.
