not nearly as big of news, but...
This past weekend, this odd message appeared on the Yahoo board:
"I just got the news from a good source but I am not sure what it means. Here is the email. I am not goint to divulge his name or where I got it so that I don't ruin my source. However, if anyone on this board is truly in the know, then they know that this is the news and hopefully someone can tell us all what it means. I hate to burst everyone's bubble that were hoping for a RHAT deal but that's the way it goes. Here is the note:

Well, since a good number of people know already and it is a fact and I'm not under NDA... Ann Harrison has accepted the role of interrum president of NewCo...

That's all for now I feel to divulge."
-------------------------
I don't know if this is true or fake, but this is what it likely means: Ann Harrison will be the interrum president of the new Interbase company (that will be spun off of Inprise). I came to this conclusion because 1) it's pretty obvious that any reference to a new company means InterBase, since Inprise has practically said (and may actually have said) they will be spinning off InterBase, and 2) Ann Harrison apparently was involved directly with InterBase in its early days, and is probably the same Ann Harrison that occasionally contributes articles to many of the top software and computer rags, especially Software Magazine.
