Sonny,

About the New SI. I didn't like it much when I first started using it either. But we all adapt. <GGG>

For folders. This is what I did.

1)Go to your inbox, it shows up on all my screens at the top. The nice thing is it tells me how many messages I have at a glance (including private messages too).

2)Once you've hit inbox you will be at the 'new' message center. Hit folder. (upper right of screen) It will show you the folders you have created. I believe you have 1 default folder called keep. You can create more folders by putting a name in the "Folder name:" and hitting create. This is located towards the bottom of the screen, under Create New Folder.

I use the folders to save messages that I want to refer to later. I'll give you a bit more on this when I get to the trash can.

Moving around the thread: If you want to go back to post #1 type 1 in the 'Reply #' box and hit enter. It will take you to what ever post # you enter in the box. Once your on a post# you can move back and forward like normal.
I use it once in a while, I'll write down a post# on a postie note and then go back to it later.

The TRASH thing. Trash will keep 80 messages. They are folderized into private and public messages. Everything that you do not save in a folder will go into the trash. But? You can go back into the trash and file (into a folder) or delete. That's where the message to me go once I have read them and they no longer show up in the inbox count.

You will not loose anything if you go into the trash. They are in a rolling file however, so be careful to organize the ones you want to keep or when you get to 81 messages the oldest (private or public) message will be deleted. If it's a public message you can still find them on the thread but the private ones are goneeeee. Been there, made that mistake. <GGG>!! You DON'T have to keep (move to a folder) every post you want to save. The public posts will always be there but if you think you may want to refer to a PM again, I would suggest moving it to a folder. You can always delete things out of your folders once your done but once the trash has been deleted down to 80 I don?t know of a way to get those back.

Bookmarks: Any bookmarks (pages) that you save in your browser under favorites (I don't know what the equivalent in Netscape is) will now automagically translate to the new links. So in other words if you have bookmarked the AOL thread, INTC and achieving wealth threads you won't have to find them on the new SI and bookmark them again.

So it's not all that bad. It just takes a little getting used to. You may want to play around with the customization options. They were supposed to add some options to keep the same look/feel of the old SI.

I Hope this helps!! There are some nice features on the new SI but the old one was fine to me.

Yack at ya later

Take Care

Ann

P.S. The MTV candidate I was referring to wasn't a republican. He's currently the VP!! <GGG>
