Thanks for your thoughtful post, tek (hard to think of such a clear thinker as a "boy" <g>). As I told Mike in a PM, it's always better to play "up" if one has the chance. I had no thought of "dumbing" down the thread. I was just searching for a way to make it more understandable to people like me who are working very hard, reading everything from the posts to the manuals three, and still feeling overwhelmed with the technical detail that we are privy to here. It's an incredible place and we are lucky to have the people posting who do. I'm planning to stop worrying about the trees, like Lindy says, and find myself a nice small forest to focus on and learn all about. I think buck did a great job this morning explaining SAN. I finally understood what it was all about and I can now go back and read the technical post he made yesterday, I think, and get a heck of a lot more out of it. And since I think I understand SAN I will probably be able to grasp NAS! I'm excited. :) It seems that just mentioning the concern (for others as well as myself) has helped already. I've been offered, via PM, all the information and explanation I need. Great people here..
