Those price discrepancies are probably attributable to the US Market Makers "protecting themselves" <G>. That $50 spread (actually $60 today) where they quote a bid of $1280 and an asked of $1340 kinda cushions the risk a little. Their virtual monopoly on the Softbank shares trading in the US market does seem to mean that they feel entitled to make their cut on every share of Softbank that is traded and they are almost guarenteed to make a consistent profit no matter what happens. I'm surprised that they do not cover the entire spread of +or - 50,000 yen so we could have a bid of $800 and an asked of $1800 <G> so these poor babies can sleep at night. I always specify an overnight trade in Tokyo.
