TO ANYONE: RE: SHORT SELLING (Canadian Markets) , If you have ALOT of knowledge in this area, I have the following question:

Short Selling in the Canadian Markets Only.

If there is a short position on a company, say a 200,000 share short position. ALL the share holders take possession of their stock certificates, how can there still be a short position? I understand "SHORTING" a company you borrow the shares. Shares in RRSP and discount brokerage houses can't be touched, as discount brokerage houses don't lend to short sellers.

But if all the shares are off the street, how can you SHORT SELL a company? Can someone point me in the right direction?

My apogees for budding in on your thread, but it is very difficult getting this info even from the Canadian Stock Exchanges so I need experienced investors thoughts.

If you can help, please respond,

Thank You VERY MUCH.
