Dear HT: OK, I read them now what?? The basis of all this is that inflation is rising. Is it? I seem to recall it was mainly in oil (a contrived price by OPEC) and Tobacco (a contrived price by Clinton). Raising interest rates or lowering interest rates will have no effect on those two items. The other thing is this labor shortage. Well, I am retired, but for all of you out there working who wants to volunteer to be laid off to satisfy HT?? The world is a pretty big place. Lots of labor out there. I could solve ANY labor crisis by toying with our immigration policy or work permits policy here in this nation.
So long as we have GLOBAL interaction and not erect trade barriers I dont see the problem.
One other thing, USA is now operating out of a Surplus. Meaning debt will go down since Govt the biggest debtor in the country by far. So I doubt interest rates will escalate for any period of time.
If you wish to gloom and doom yourself, fine go ahead. But for me and my 56 years on this planet, I think things look better then EVER before. Technology of ALL TYPES is JUST BEGINNING. In 5 years this will look like the stone age. I am optomistic. JDN
