TELLABS? MartisDXXTM TO PROVIDE MANAGED ACCESS TO GLOBAL ONE
Two Global One Data Solutions to Benefit from Network Access Aggregation
Platform

Lisle, Ill. ? Tellabs announced today that Global One will use the
MartisDXX managed access and grooming solution as a fully managed
platform for its Global Frame Relay and Global Direct Link solutions.

Global One, awarded ?Best Carrier 1999? by customers under the Emap
Media World Communication Awards 1999, will use the MartisDXX access
multiplexer to maximize the use of bandwidth for these two solutions by
concentrating multiple customer circuits onto higher capacity broadband
connections.

?Our customers require seamless global reach, large amounts of bandwidth
and innovative products and services on a global scale,? said Allen
Bintz, director of data engineering, at Global One. ?We chose the
Tellabs MartisDXX solution because it enables us to meet our customers?
needs while maximizing the use of our own network and controlling our
costs.?

With the MartisDXX network management system (NMS), Global One can
manage multiple services, provide LAN interconnection with the wider
network and access secure network statistics reporting.

?We?re pleased to work with Global One to support its next-generation
data networking needs,? said John Vaughan, president of Global Sales and
Service at Tellabs. ?Because the MartisDXX solution is already deployed
in more than 70 countries, Global One will be able to easily expand into
new markets.?

The MartisDXX system is an integrated solution for providing both
circuit-switched and cell-based services, eliminating the need for
separate voice and data networks. The Tellabs MartisDXX system enables
service providers to offer tailored services to their customers as their
networks grow. It currently is deployed in more than 170 networks
worldwide, providing intelligent transport for mobile services and
multiservice platforms for a broad range of business services, including
LAN interconnection, digital leased line, frame relay and PBX
interconnection.

Global One, which is owned by France Telecom, offers a single source for
the provision of seamless
voice, data and IP services for businesses, carriers and consumers
around the world. Global One
focuses on multinational customers and operates a global network
infrastructure which has over 1,400
network access centers in more than 65 countries. Global One offers the
world?s most far-reaching
ATM-based network and in 1999 had revenues of approximately US$ 1.1
billion.

Tellabs designs, manufactures, markets and services data, voice and
video transport, switching/routing and network access systems. The
company?s products are used worldwide by providers of communications
services. Tellabs stock is listed on the Nasdaq Stock Market (TLAB).
