I worked on that property for Tintina. There is placer gold in nearby rivers near the Sewatuck (sp) fault where the tar sands locate as well and rusty limestones. Models include Russia, Texas, and the Carlin Trend.

There is a certain plausibility coefficient due to mineralization manifest in systems. Volcanic sources abound in these terranes in basement and late seds.

Tar Coated minerals including gold have been seen by the author. Economics is hard to determine as in a placer property due to volume/grade/dispersion and chemical interferences-statistical difficulties. Syncrude has a division investigating metals revocery from tails so it ain't all hooey. The implication that there is a problem with recovery by solution methods is again not hard to fathom. Oil fugseverthingup that it does not help.
