PRONETLINK.COM PARTICIPATES IN INAUGURAL MEETING IN WASHINGTON -For release Feb 7, 2000
Friday, February 4th, ProNetLink.com Chairman Glenn Zagoren was invited to attend the inaugural meeting of the Industry Functional Advisory Committee for E-Commerce for Trade Policy Matters (IFAC 4) at the Department of Commerce. Secretary of Commerce William M. Daley and the U.S. Trade Representative Charlene Barshefsky kicked off this important meeting.
Industry advisory committees such as IFAC 4 play a critical role in the U.S. Government's trade policy formation. IFAC 4 was formally established by the Secretary of Commerce and the United States Trade Representative in August 1999 in order to provide U.S. trade officials with a better understanding, from industry's perspective, of the implications of the growth and development of electronic commerce on international trade. The committee also will advise the Government on key electronic commerce issues affecting trade. IFAC 4's advice will be used to develop U.S. Government positions and priorities on e-commerce for discussions in bilateral, regional and multilateral trade for a such as the World Trade Organization (WTO).
The IFAC will be comprised of 23 industry representatives and one representative from each of our 17 existing sectoral advisory committees.
