I respectfully disagree with you. For months, all we heard about were Bush's positives, and for months (actually, years now), McCain has candidly addressed the Keating affair.

He has also addressed the letters, which did NOT "support" his financial donors. As I understand it, he, as most committee chairs do, often wrote letters on behalf of constituents or others requesting that government agencies expedite decisions. There was no explicit support or "push" for the decision to go in someone's favor, merely a request that a decision be made.

I expect the Bush camp will step up attacks on McCain. Unfortunate, as both Bush and McCain seem to be fine men with largely stellar records of public service. I just feel that McCain is the better candidate for President due to his military and foreign affairs experience.
