Since I have not had a clarification, I thought I would start by saying that it is actually a peculiar wedding gift, since the reverie involves other men, and a sense of having chosen her mate on a whim....The cadences make it poetic, but only if you know how to read it, otherwise, one wouldn't think of it as a poem. However, if you read it aloud sonorously, it is much like a Dylan Thomas poem, say "Fern Hill".....Is this the sort of commentary you were looking for?
