i remember the biggest problem w/options in '87 was the fact that the options simply stopped trading. of course it was possible to exercise them - IF you could get through to your broker. i tend to agree with those that say that the bears will be somehow deprived of their just rewards in the event of a big market calamity simply by means of all communication lines to the brokers miraculously breaking down...
