Has anybody on this board actually received an allocation of shares from FBR at the IPO price? The idea of having an equal chance randomly selected by computer is appealing, but what are the odds? If, as we suspect, that this is going to be a hot IPO come Thursday, then I wonder how many people will be competing for FBR's limited number of shares available? If demand indeed exceeds the 4.1 million supply, will any full service broker be willing allocate shares to us "small" investors? Or will he just drop them on his favorite client or, better yet, buy them himself? In my experience, people don't give away money for nothing. Sure hope I'm wrong, though.
