The PLM shortage will continue to grow as we approach 2010. Fuel cell technology which is poised to spring board not only vehicular economy but household heating and cogeneration will make use of membrane technology which is a platinum coated nylon membrane. Each cell must use a membrane and many cells make up a high powered engine. When Messina(if) comes on line in 2002 it will be just when Ballard starts its production runs on the fuel cell car. Many inroads are currently being made in cogeneration in the European threater with respect to home fuel cells.
