The problem of the deal is:
1. Mike Cowpland and his infamous wife.
2. The price is too low.
3. I would have preferred that the name be Borland/Corl with a suitable symbol change.

1. His wife should be a non-issue, except that she reflects on him and what kind of a person he must be. What I have read about Cowpland so far makes me think he is a bad choice to tie our future to but those concerns are completely aside from his wife's activities.
2. I agree completely.
3. Unlike some people who still feel that Inprise could have solved all its problems 2 years ago magically by going back to the Borland name, I don't think this even comes close to being a significant reason why this deal seems like a bad one for INPR stockholders.

I don't see what Corel brings to this deal that puts INPR (at least those of us who do not have some sweetheart deal worked out as part of this sellout)in a better position than it was without Corel.
