Stockbug,

I think it important that I correct a false impression that you, and possibly others have.
I do not personally benefit from the Cube shares that are loaned out to shorts. It is the Fund that has loaned out the shares, and it is the shareholders of the Fund that receive the interest from having done so. Andy Chen put it well. It is extra income our fund earns, on top of the profit we hope to make on our Cube shareholdings. The only way I can benefit personally is through my ownership in our Mutual Fund, and parenthetically I might add that I am by far the largest investor in our fund.
We have other indidividual accounts our firm manages that also own approximately 80,000 shares of C-Cube stock and who, like many of you, are not in a position to receive interest from lending out their shares, as the Fund can. Those shares are in cash accounts and they are not loaned out to shorts.
There have been a number of messages I received since I "stuck my neck out" that I would like to give a thoughtful response to, but have not had the time to do so, as yet.
