Can you explain what "isotopically pure ...silicon carbide" might be for the layman (or does everone know but me?) if an isotope is a 'any of 2 or more forms of an element having the same atomic number but differing slightly in atomic weight' and silicon carbide isn't an element...?

More importantly, what's the import of this?
