Valueman, I agree with you opinion of the quality of VFI as an investment...those of us on the IVI thread wished we had chosen it over IVI long, long ago...being locked into our positions (due to distressed price) prevented us from switching...that said, IVI has licenced some of it's technology to VFI (a fairly big contract be IVI's standards)...they have also formed an alliance with the dominant smart-card firm on the globe (Ingenico), as well as narrowed their focus and pooled some of their research (how can you compete with the Rn D of VFI accross all market segments?)...IVI has been the market dominator in Canada for some time, yet in some areas does not attempt to compete with VFI (for instance, they resell VFI's printers with their set-ups-my point is they are going after their niche...)...I've seen your comments on other threads as well, so I know you live up to your username...considering this, would you not consider VFI to be at full value (it's p/e is quite high, justifiably, but I don't see it commanding a larger one nearterm)...if you look at dollar sales or BV to market value, IVI is very cheap...it is also a very high quality generating increasing sales off the US market (they recently signed a major contract with Wal-mart)...at 30 dollars VFI is a much better value than IVI but at 50 I'm not convinced(not considering the post merger synergies)...again congrats on your profits, I'm still optimistic that IVI has substantial upside with very little downside risk, representing better value to the investor...why don't you give it another look (they company has changed signifiganlty over the past 12 months) and give us your opinion on the IVI thread, your input would be appreciated...thanks for your response...

ps. I don't mean to be using VFI's forum to promot IVI, the fact is that the two companies are related...the increase in VFI is having positive impacts on IVI (increased analyst/institutional coverage), and the Walmart deal gave them better exposure to US market...a lot of the writers on this thread appear to be somewhat dissapointed with the merger, as they feel VFI would be a better pure play in the electronic commerce market...IVI is a pure play (whether you think it's a worthwile one or not is up to you)...hopefully I will hear from some of you on International Verifact's thread...where I will post my further comments to those that are interested, as I did not intend to use VFI as a venue for my IVI opinions...hey, you guys should change the name of the thread to HWP...
