Mr. Ray Paquette reports
Bill Moss has resigned as a company director. Dave Kepkay has joined the company as a managing director and will be working full time to develop and build the company's sales and marketing division. As stated in previous news releases, the company started research studies and product evaluations covering a wide range of applications. Mr. Kepkay will be responsible to oversee, assist and expand the company's sales team as these studies and test markets prove up and become revenue centres.
Mr. Kepkay will be reviewing all current sales initiatives to date which include following up on the Nov. 16, 1999, news release announcing the joint demonstration research study with Washington State University Department of Animal Sciences, Farm and Compost Operations, in Pullman, Wash. The university has received the initial order of processed natural zeolite shipped by the company. Alan Harris, head of the Waste & Pollution Control Division of Canadian Mining Company, will be visiting the university the week of Feb. 7, to participate in the research program. The company has requested that a bi-weekly report be provided documenting the benefits derived from the application of zeolite with animal manure and other organic waste materials in the reduction of odours and the increase in nutrient retention. The company believes that the study will provide the needed scientific documentation to confirm that treated manure and organic waste can be economically processed into a high-quality bagged or pellet-based organic manure fertilizer for resale.
Jim Ryerson, the company's sales representative for Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan, has been working with several key contacts inside various Wheat Pools and Grain Growers Board with regards to moisture and mite pest control. Mr. Ryerson has requested that a second shipment be delivered within the next 10 days using three different formulations. Upon receipt of this shipment, further conclusive tests will be performed to determine which combination works best with a report to follow. At that time, Canadian Mining Company will be in a position to negotiate and bid on subsequent business.
Other market segments include soil and turf enhancement, waste encapsulation, lightweight building aggregates, gas and hydrocarbon absorption and animal feed additives. The company will continue to seek out opportunities that blend technology and industrial minerals together to provide environmentally friendly and economically viable business solutions.
