Re: Taiwan -- I really don't know what to make of it. If I was Taiwanese I would want to set my own terms for any reunification or declare independence. But the Chinese will not back down on this because they are fully and completely convinced this is part of their homeland -- this is the sort of thing that starts wars. All of this is set in a larger framework -- the big picture of where Asia goes from here economically and politically. I will be there in March for some meetings -- what do you suggest? Should I tell them to go shove it? Perhaps you would like to accompany me and I could let you do the talking? <g>
