Nokia"s global market share increased to 26,9% 1999, from 22,5% 1998, is reported from Dataquest according to News Agency Ticker.
Motorolas market share decreased from 19,5 to 16,9%, and Ericsson lost from 15,1 to 10,5%. Samsung grew from 2,7 to 6,2%.
According to Dataquest 283,6 million mobilephones where sold 1999. This year the sales is expected to increase 45% to 410 million units.
Dataquest further estimates that the winners of the coming years will be those who can deliver cheap phones for less developed markets, and advanced internet phones on other markets. For year 2001 is estimated that more than 40% of the sold phones will have the capacity to connect to the internet.
