labor productivity

I couldn't possibly make this up. At 4:00 PM EST, the lead story on CNBC was the labor department's productivity number. And, with Sue Herrera doing a voice over, a camera panned 2 workers on PC's. It went a little too fast for me to see the first machine, but I think the user was running MS Flight Simulator. The SECOND user, however, was CLEARLY playing a game of DOOM! I'm sure that, given the importance of productivity in our new economy, this worker will gently be taken aside and admonished. The next time his machine gets panned by a CNBC camera, certainly he'll be running the latest version of Quake.
