lof...re: "buying a call ties up more margin then selling a put" sho nuff......for the "advanced expert" that you are, one would think you would have this knowledge... cash is king when it comes to margin, second perhaps government securities, they give you the most bang for your margin capacity....buy a call and it reduces margin capacity...sell a put, and depending on the premium and strike in relationship to the underlying stock price and you may even increase your margin capacity...
