You have failed to account for the cash/margin requirement to cover the sold put. You must maintain 1/3rd of the underlying value of strike of the put in order to write the contract.

Sell a put at a strike of $100, and you must maintain $33,000 in unencumbered cash or margin to keep the position open.

Buy a call, and all you're out is the premium. Granted, the premium reduces cash or increases margin debt (which has to be backed up with equity, bonds, other cash...)

And you have the brass to call me clueless and irresponsible...
