Slider, Re: VPI, E&P's, Oil vs Gas plays

> Jim L - VPI - can you believe it ? It's coming back here... whodathunkit ? <<

Lots of ways to interpret that remark. Would you like to elaborate lest I misunderstand you?

As for VPI I want to have some core long term holds. If oil prices settle in a new long term range say $21-25 vs the old $16-20, then VPI should receive a higher long term multiple than in the past. If you remember I bought VPI calls and used those as my short term trading vehicle and decided to keep the shares long term. I made over 150%+ on the calls so getting a little bit of a pullback in the shares does not bother me.

I have no desire to try to trade everything from peak to peak. I've wasted far too much time on this sector already. For all the talking the E&P's have been a horrible investment over the last 6 months. Talk about underperformance. I've done well by trading them, but it's far too time consuming.

It's still a little early to determine where gas prices will settle long term, but it does appear OPEC has a new desire for a higher prices range for oil.

Nothing in E&P land surprises me anymore. Even UPR went down. Whodathunkit.... ;)

BTW, My personal sentiment indicator is getting pretty ugly.
