Thanks for the article Bob.

It brings up some questions I've had regarding the partnership strategy. In addition to wondering how revenue will be split and who handles installation, now I get to worry whether JDEC is making a mistake by covering up the Siebel, Ariba and TRADEX brands. Ironically, this kind of article is useful for broadcasting that it is these companies' products being sold under a JDEC nameplate.

That line about JDEC no longer controlling its own destiny makes me wonder about a massive, multicompany merger to create a single, large e-business software company.

Another thought that just occurred to me is that the article is useful for the juxtapositioning of JDEC and SAP. Despite the fact that SAP is a much larger company and, from all that I can tell, pursues larger companies it elevates JDEC into the top tier of business software companies.

Just some thoughts,
Terrapin
