Okay, I'll start it off on a good note.

Today, while perusing the offerings at the local previously owned accessories site, I found a relatively good awning discarded after one of last year's tornadoes down here in the South. Knowing that my friend Janice has a southern exposure in her trailer, I was able to buy it for 50 cents plus two used casings and an old pair of car dice, and we installed it there today. It's a little twisted in places, but should provide some measure of shade this summer.

We also got a steal on two old truck tires in which Janice plans to grow some tomatoes this year. We set them out near the peach trees. When I was setting the tires in the ground with a shovel, I dang near chopped her electricity line in half. Didn't see it. The extension cord runs from her trailer all the way over to pert near Clem's Grain and Feed, and a second cord plugged into that one runs from there into Bubba's Garage, which is where the electricity comes from. The cord's all an ugly old brown color now, so it looks jest like the dirt.

Janice said she'd bake me a peach pie later this year for my efforts, so we'll see.

Y'all take care now...
